4 Responses to Creating Products With Customer Surveys: New Video

  1. wow this is great. I have used many of these steps in the past but not all of them. The idea of surveying people before you create a product is a great one as well.

    Hi AnnaLaura,
Thanks so much! I’m so happy you found this helpful. This really is a killer technique–hope it proves profitable for you!

    Best,

I didn’t know there was a free SurveyMonkey product as I cancelled because I didn’t use enought to justify $20/mo.Will check it out again

    Hi Tina,
I just checked and there is still a free version . . . that’s a good place to start and as you progress, you can move to something more, if this doesn’t meet your needs.

    Thanks for your comment!

    Best,
    Jeanne

What if you are just starting out and don’t have a list to survey.

Have a Great Memorial Day Weekend All.

    Hi Bob,
Great question . . . You have several options, here are some of them:

First, you can put together a quiz and use social media (video, particularly) to drive traffic to that quiz. You can get draw traffic, help to convert the traffic, and also get information on your prospects, assuming that you put an opt-in in front of the quiz. From that, you can begin to build a list.

Second, you could find someone in your niche who isn’t a direct competitor, partner with him or her, and survey his or her list–just be clear who you are and how you’re using the data, in the introduction to the survey.

Third, you can use data that are out there for free, if you can find good, reliable data on your niche that will give you some impressions about your target market. It’s not as good as targeted data on your list but it can be an awesome way to get started and some of the information out there is pure gold.

I hope this helps. And I hope you have an awesome Memorial Day weekend, too!

    Best,
    Jeanne

    Hi Jeanne,

As always, you’ve delivered some excellent content here, especially for folks, like Bob, who are just getting started and Tina who learned there is a free component to “Survey Monkey.”

Then there are folks like AnnaLaura and me who have been using some, but not all, of the profit generating techniques you shared. Fantastic!

Bottom line: If we use our noodle and all this incredible Internet and Social Media technology properly, we can do what Alvin Toffler and John Naisbitt said was coming down the pike — the ability to create and deliver customized products and services for and to consumers.

What you and Mike have to offer is the ability to do just that; and we can build life long — PROFITABLE — relationships with people who’ll buy whatever we create because it will be based on what THEY want.

“JENIUS”, as Frank would say, jenius!

Thanks again for some super insights.

    Joe
