Hey Jeanne!
Great to see this site of yours. I have spent years studying direct marketing and now online marketing. This includes social networking, web 2.0 tools, branding, youtube videos etc. I am so excited to see that you are offering Expert information on this subject. I have followed so called "gurus" down the path to their bank accounts-leaving my bank account in the dust!

How refreshing to know that I have a contact who is the "Real Deal." Feel free to quote me. I am signing up for your mini course and see where that leads me. Loved the underwater video, although I know most of the points you were making--your delivery style was so fresh and easy to follow.

Clearly, I will never survive using Twitter, 140 characters is not my style. Talk soon I hope.

Hi Erica,
Great to "see" you!

If you don't have a list, then you're probably going to have to count on data other people have "collected for you." Depending upon the market, you might be able to find some good data. The key is to think about who your target market is, what people in it "look like" in terms of average age, education, type of business, income, that sort of thing. Then see if you can find some data that will give you a "profile" of those people.

The other possibility is to see if you can find someone who is already marketing to those people and see if you might be able to "share a survey" with that person. If you offer to help him or her, you might be able to get some questions out to his or her list.

If you do that, be sure you're really surveying the list, though, and not just relying on blog polls or something like that. Blog polls will tend to give you some good ideas, but not a systematic picture of your target market.

If you can give me more info, I'll give you more direction. Shoot me an e-mail and I'll try to help!

Hi Jeanne! What is the best way to survey a market you don't have a list for?

I hope you are doing well! We need to reconnect one of these days!

Have a fabulous day!
